4th of September 2001 - anniversary of the murder of Peter McBride

"Nine years of shame"

Signatures handed over to German Foreign Affairs Ministry

To mark the anniversary an hour long silent vigil is held at the corner of the New Lodge and Antrim Roads in North Belfast between 1pm and 2pm. The theme of the vigil is 'Nine Years of Shame' and is intended to highlight the fact that Guardsmen Mark Wright and James Fisher remain in the British Army nine years after murdering Peter Mc Bride.

To mark the anniversary 864 signatures are handed over today to the  German Foreign Affairs Ministry to protest against the stationing of the two Guardsmen in Germany. A copy is handed over to the German Defence ministry and the British consulate.

Signatures are coming from Germany, Ireland, England, Scotland, USA, Dubai, Australia, Sweden, Italy, Israel, Hongkong, Austria. A big  thank you for your support!

We will continue to collect signatures to our petition unless these two murderers are thrown out of Germany and sacked from the British Army.

You still can sign our declaration. Please ask other people to sign as well to support our protest
